About Mariana Housková
Mariana Housková lives in Prague. She teaches languages, poetry, and translation at Josef Skvorecky Literary Academy, and her doctoral research concentrates on Elizabeth Bishop at the Charles University, Prague. In 2004/05 she was a Fulbright scholar at Boston University. She translates poetry, essays, and short stories from English and Spanish, and she is the author of the first Czech translation of Elizabeth Bishop, which appeared in 2004.
