these sites provide hundreds of listservers, ranging from period discussions (Renaissance
or Victorian literature) to stylistic ones (Surrealism or Magic Realism) to individual
authors (Chaucer to Heaney). Most of these automated email lists are provided by
universities for academics, so the discussions are often too serious, or abstruse, for the
general audience.
